FOOD IN OUR LAND
In this lesson learners will be introduced to cooking actions and food items. They will watch a video about cooking actions, which they will use as the basis for the project. Then they will create four groups, matching some flashcards pairs about cooking words, they have learnt before. Finally they will look at language for recipes and even make biscuits and cupcakes, but also the “Salame al cioccolato”, one special Italian dessert, in class.

Both children and 7th grade students worked together, so the eldest ones enjoyed the position of being able to help others. They could be more independent and they also have improved their self-esteem. They really cooked in the school kitchen. This one was an activity of “continuità”, we do in Italy, between primary and low secondary.
