THEATRE PROJECT
Jumping Ducks Company offers a new version of the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. The play is called Little Red Rocks and we went to the theatre with our primary students. After watching it we illustrated the play.
Little Red is a bright and clever young girl who lives with her dad, Thomas Red. One day Thomas receives a letter: Barbara, his mum, an old star of the music world is in danger of losing her house unless she submits a document that Thomas has. However, he can not go and give it to her as he needs to work at the hospital. Little Red is very brave and offers to help her grandmother. Little Red will travel a long distance to carry the document all the way from Barcelona to London. On her journey, she carries the “Book of The Best in You” where she writes the best of people’s characters and the good things people do for others. Little Red wants to become a journalist and wants to write only about good things and good news. On Little Red’s trip she meets many different characters, including greedy Mr. Wolf who tries to trick her and steal her precious book and her Grandmother’s important document; crazy Mexican hostess, Lupita, who teaches Little Red that flying can be fun; a Russian perfumer, Olenka, who will give Little Red a magic perfume and help her to find the correct way to her grandmother’s house, when she gets lost.
