From the curriculum for the Recreation Center:
– let the pupils express themselves through drama
– let the pupils interpret and talk about different sorts of aesthetic expressions
– let the pupils use different technique, gear and material to create
Using this activity in our project helped us work towards the goals mentioned. We started with different drama exercises such as charades, improvisation and dramatize texts. We worked with this activity in grade 1 and most of the pupils were able to participate. A small group of six pupils were later selected to work with the film. They used hand puppets to illustrate the fairy tale. The tale is “The red Riding hood and the Wolf”. This activity has been very successful both for the pupils and the teachers. We have since then got the opportunity to practice more drama which has made us more comfortable with this aesthetic expression. The pupils found the activity fun and request more drama so we are absolutely going to continue with this next school year.
