Dance and Music-SE

In this year has our school received special cultural money. This has meant that we have had visits by writers, circus school and orchestras.
One of the classes in grade 2 had the opportunity to work with an orchestra.
The theme was Astrid Lindgren, Sweden´s famous children´s book auther. She has also written the text to many of the songs that are included in the film adaptions of her books.
The pupils had to start by researching a little about Astrid Lindgren, the characters in her books and the songs about them.
Then the orchestra came to the school and they decidede which songs they would sing and they rehearsed. The class then practiced the songs themselves for a few weeks.
The whole project ended with a performance for the parents. It was much appreciated! The pupils thought it was very fun to sing and we heard a lot of spontaneous singing during the school day after this procejct. We have decided to make a musical next school year, all four classes in the work team.
