I.C. “Centro Storico Moncalieri” – Italy

Title: “An exciting and meaningful morning”

Duration and involved subjects: Two months, 1h per week (approximatively). Art teacher (coordinator), Music, Art and Langue teachers.

Description: March 12th: students from the low secondary school and the primary with part of the Institute’s choir play and sing at the prize giving for a drawing contest. The theme of the contest and of the performances is “SOLIDARITY”.

The musical program is:

  1. “European hymn”
  2. “Italian national anthem”
  3. “Si può dare di più”
  4. “Aggiungi un posto a tavola”
  5. “Se telefonando”

Other groups of pupils coming from other schools of Moncalieri listen and make their own performance.

Objectives:

  • Promote the harmonious development of the personality in every direction (ethical, religious, social, intellectual, affective, operational, creative) to enable us to act in a responsible manner;
  • Create favorable conditions for the physical, mental and intellectual development of the student in the school environment and promote self-knowledge and the affirmation of one’s own identity with a view to enhancing the distinctive aspects of one’s personality;
  • To acquire knowledge of social reality, allow the exchange of experiences and the use of local resources;
  • Encourage the development of the student as a person with critical thinking and capable of self-orientation and integration into contemporary society;
  • Prevent forms of disadvantage, discomfort and dispersion;
  • Encourage the educational and interpersonal relationship, in the group, in the class, at school and above all in the presence of children with a disability;
  • Motivate to study and promote meaningful and personalized learning.

Achievements:

Students thought deeply about solidarity, while preparing the drawings and practicing for their exhibition. They were able to express their emotions playing music and drawing, in front of a challenging and exciting audience. They used arts as means for communicating their feelings and thoughts.
