THE EXPRESSION OF EMOTIONS THROUGH MUSIC

  • WHAT DOES MUSIC EVOKE?

On behalf of this title we’d like to refer to all those activities that emerge from listening to music with the eyes closed (form, posture… They can be changing so as to make it more enjoyable, but anyway it should be comfortable and relaxed) and to say that they have to listen to the music, to let it in, to breathe it and after they get carried away by what it suggests.

We can give guidelines:

-Put color to the music

-Words

-Imagine a story

-A fact that has happened to you

-An adventure

-One image

-Think about someone in the family

-Think of someone from school

-Associate with photos

-Associate with artworks

-A nice or unpleasant memory (depending on the music)…

The result of what it has suggested can be shared verbally and the teacher will pick it up in a written way.

  • WE MOVE WITH MUSIC

The activities of dance and corporal expression will serve to express with our body, what the music tells us. Since a long time ago and in all cultures, the ancient people have expressed what they felt through their bodies with dances, songs, drums, rhythms… as a form of liberation.

We can simply play a music and say the children they should dance, but depending on the age they won’t feel like doing it or the movements will be very stereotyped. So it is useful to give guidelines to discover the possibilities of one’s body and to create beautiful movements. As they go into this form of expression, the expression must be free.

The activities of dancing and corporal expression can be individual but they can also be in pairs and groups.

  • WE DRAW THE MUSIC

The students will draw and paint what the music communicates.

The art expression activities can be individual but can also be in pairs and groups.
