Important dates for us, in Italy, are:
- the 25th of December (Christmas day);
- the 1st of January (New Year);
- Easter (16th April);
- the 25th of April (anniversary of the Liberation/anniversary of Resistance, commemorating the end of Nazi occupation of the country during World War II);
- the 1st of May (labour day);
- the 2nd of June (Republic day/festa della Repubblica, it celebrates the day when Italians voted to abolish the monarchy in 1946 so their country could become a republic).
